Looking Forward to X-Men: Days of Future Past

The second official trailer for X-Men: Days of Future Past was released recently, and it is nothing short of perfect. The film will be released in the US May 23rd, and follows Wolverine (Hugh Jackman) as he is sent into the past by the X-Men to alter the events that led to near doom for humans and mutants in the present time. This comicbook-to-film adaptation carries a long list of movie stars that are returning to the franchise big screen. The young Charles Xavier (James McAvoy ) and Erik Lehnsherr (Michael Fassbender) will be joined on screen by the their veteran counterparts, Professor X (Patrick Stewart) and Magneto (Ian McKellen).

Personally, I am beyond excited for the appearances of James McAvoy and Michael Fassbender to grace the theater screen since their outstanding acting back in X-Men: First Class (2011). Their onscreen chemistry is impeccable. They’re the perfect duo to be casted for this friend/foe partnership. The clash between Magneto’s refusal to become subordinate to humanity and Professor X’s will to obey the laws and safely coexist with humans will diminish as they come together to fix their past faults. I re-watched First Class a few days back, and am more than ready for what’s to come next in X-Men’s cinematic franchise. I will also be refreshing my mind and prepping for the new film by viewing the whole series again.

The trailers for this film are flawless. They set us up for a remarkable ride to the past and present of X-Men history. The second official trailer was released Monday, and it is just beautiful. As if the first trailer wasn’t perfect enough, the second does justice by giving us the emotions of surprise and curiosity with a side of goosebumps, because wow, it’s so epic. As you can see, I’ve collected both trailers for your viewing pleasures. You know where I’ll be May 23rd!
